Industrial concrete & wood spotlight
(A collaboration between Beards & Banjos and DesignerArt)
The early invention of electrical lighting is an intriguing piece of history from which we find ourselves incredibly inspired.
In the late 1890’s, an estimated 100,000 prospectors migrated to the Klondike region of Alaska in search of fortune, and so the event of this captivating creation unfolds.
In the years preceding the Klondike-Alaskan Gold Rush, March 1878, we are able to trace the first large-scale application of Jablochkoff’s arc lamps, having been powered by generators. By the fascinating time of the Gold Rush stampede (1897-1899), the use of industrial lighting emerges in one of the harshest conditions known to man.
We have designed an industrial lamp, which draws inspiration from the equipment used by the Klondike miners in the unrelenting, cold mountains of the Alaskan terrain, during the end of the 1800’s.
